Proverbs 17:27-28 A man of knowledge uses words with restraint, and a man of understanding is even-tempered. 28) Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.

This proverb highlights several benefits of keeping quit: (1) it is the best policy if you have nothing worthwhile to say; (2) it allows you the opportunity to listen and learn; (3) it gives you something in common with those who are wiser.
