Under Gods Command
It’s all being RECORDED!

A coworker of mine one day said, it is all being Recorded! This stuck with me for months.  He does not know how much that stuck with me, but he will today.  God uses everyone to speak a word into your life.  Thank you, brother, for speaking this word.

John 4:16-19 He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.” 17 “I have no husband,” she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband.”  What you have just said is quite true. 9  Sir,” the women said, “I can see that you are a prophet.”

When this woman discovered that Jesus knew all about her private life, she quickly changed the subject.  Often, people become uncomfortable when the conversation is too close to home, and they try to talk about something else.  As we witness, we should gently guide the conversation back to Christ.  His presence exposes sin and makes people squirm, but only Christ can forgive sins and give new life.

Let’s Bring it Home:  Only God can delete the sin in your life that is being recorded by God Almighty.  You see, we are talking about what we do outwardly and inwardly.  Our thoughts and actions are all being recorded by God.  We all get upset when someone is recording us without us knowing, and when we know we are being recorded, we act a certain way because we want others to see us in a good light.

So the question is, why are we not concerned about the recording that is going on daily that reaches deep down into your soul? When a Husband or Wife’s eyes start to wonder, when jealousy seeps in, when we drink to drunkenness and act a fool, and the list goes on.  Remembering we are being recorded will help us walk in the Spirit of Righteous even more.

The moment we accept Jesus as our savior and ask God to forgive us for our sins, they are deleted and remembered no more according to His word.  We do face the consequences, but the sin is remembered no more.  We all sin throughout the day, but we can go through the day remaining blameless.  So take that feeling of being recorded by someone without knowing it and apply it to God’s recording of your life.

How often does God have to push the delete button on us when we ask for forgiveness?  You see, I don’t need anyone putting trash in my backyard.  I had

OWNING YOUR CHOICES

Rob Henry Notes on the Sermon Sunday.  My notes do not do this message any justice.  This is just a slice of the message that was dropped Sunday.  Scroll across to about 31 to get right to the Sermon.

Pastor Stan

We do not mind owning things, but there are very few people that own their choices.

The CHOICE is yours.  Life is full of CHOICES, and sometimes we don’t make all the right CHOICES.  Sometimes we must own the CHOICES we make to invoke God into our situation.

Flip Wilson use to say the devil made me do it.  When really, he needed to OWN HIS CHOICE.    When we make a bad CHOICES, we are going to have to OWN THAT CHOICE.

The power of CHOICE is a gift from God.  We take it for granted and use and abuse that gift.  The gift that God has afforded us is Christ, Salvation and then there is CHOICE.  So, it is going to be up to you how you use it.

In a world like ours we must CHOOSE right over wrong.  In a world like ours where once they were calling things wrong, are now being called right.  Things that was once Un-Godly are now accepted.

We have a CHOICE of believing or not that there is a God.

So often we chose something outside of Christ and expect the reward that resides inside of Christ.  So, CHOICEdetermines your position in life.

CHOICE is what dictate what you can and can not do.  Our life is CHOICE driven.  He gives us the right to CHOOSEhim or not.  The most important thing to God is that you CHOOSE Him.  Pastor Stan said that if you sit in the barbershop long enough, you will eventually get a haircut.  So if you sit in Christ by way of CHOICE long enough, you don’t even have to know all about it, all you have to do is sit in it.  God said “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away and all things have become new.”  Pastor Stan is talking about a lifestyle change, not just a verbal confession.  It is you believing by faith in your CHOOSING to CHOOSE God.  He said salvation is not just a say, it is a do.  You got to walk saved, talk saved, and act saved.  That others may see Jesus in you, and all that He is doing.  You must OWN YOUR CHOICE.  If you own it, then God has a legal right to help you find your way.  Its only if you chose Him to help you.

This is what I love about Pastor Stan, He will always come back with Scripture to back up what he is preaching.

Joshua 24:15 And if it seems evil unto you to serve God, choose for yourself this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.  If you do not CHOOSE God, weather you know it or not, you are serving the enemy.  So, the devil does not care about you calling him a liar because you are serving him.

Next Pastor Stan speaks about giving the devil credit when he does not deserve any.  Pastor Stan said we have a tendency to say “The devil is coming after my finances” when everyone at Macys knows you.  So, the devil did not do it, we make conscious decisions to spend our bill or rent money. We do not want to OWN OUR CHOICES.  When we own it, we can get God to help us.  We will say the devil is coming after my health, but we will not eat nothing healthy.  We say the devil is coming against my marriage, when we are spending more time with our single girl friends at the club.  We got to OWN OUR CHOICES.

Pastor Stan said, that when we are influence by the devil in every kind of evil way, by the authority given to us in heaven, we can CHOOSE not to.

Pastor Stan testified that it was not until he OWNED his CHOICE back in the day when he got the help he needed.  It was not until he took total responsibility for his action when he received his help.  Pastor Stan said he ask God why you did not help me when I was crying out.  He said he heard a small voice say, YOU DID NOT CHOOSE FOR ME TO HELP.  God gave us the right to CHOOSE,, and he will not violate it.  So, you hold your issue until you CHOOSEHim.  We have a free will and a legal right to CHOOSE what we want.  The enemy will try to coach you in making a bad decision.

James 1:12-15 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, I am being tempted by God, for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.  14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. 15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. 16 Do not deceived, my beloved brethren.

He is driven away by His own CHOICE; you are going to have to own it.  But Bless is the man who chooses right.  We are driven away by our own nature.  We are going to have to choose our spirit over our flesh.  You got be mindful over people who CHOOSES  for you.  Because its still your CHOICE to allow them to choose.

Genesis 3:6 When the women saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make  one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.

1 Timothy 2:14 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

The Bible says that Adam was with Eve.  Adam made a CHOICE.  There was nothing the enemy could say to make Adam sin.  He made a CHOICE.  It doesn’t matter how good it looks, If you are not CHOOSING God, you are CHOOSING the enemy.

Genesis 3:7-12 Then the eyes of both were opened, and they know that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings. 8 They heard the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 Then the LORD God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you” 10 He said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.” 11 And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?”  12 The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate.”

  1. Whenever you make a bad decision, you are going to have to own it, and if you don’t own it, the first thing you are going to do is try to cover up what God designed to be good by CHOICE, and you cover it up and make it bad.
  1. When you do not OWN YOUR CHOICE, the CHOICE that you made, you separate yourself from God.

Adam said that I heard your voice, but I did not see you.  Jesus was coming to set him free if he would have own it.  Adam blamed God and the Woman.

We got to OWN THE CHOICES we made.  If we do not own it, you got to hold it.  If you made a bad CHOICE, own it so you can invoke the power of God.

Under Gods Command

2 Corinthians 12:1-10 1I must go on boasting. Although there is nothing to be gained, I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord. 2I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows. 3And I know that this man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows— 4was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell. 5I will boast about a man like that, but I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses. 6Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say, 7or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. ”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Paul continued his “boasting” by telling about visions and revelations he had received from the Lord. “I know a man in Christ” means that Paul was speaking about himself. He explained that he didn’t know if he was taken up in his body or in his spirit, but he had been in paradise (“the third heaven,” perhaps referring to the highest part of the heavens, beyond the atmosphere and the stars, where God himself lives). This incident cannot be positively identified with a recorded event in Paul’s career, although some think this may have been when he was stoned and left for dead (Acts 14:19-20). Paul told about this incident to show that he had been uniquely touched by God.

We don’t know what Paul’s “thorn in my flesh” was because he doesn’t tell us. Some have suggested that it was malaria, epilepsy, or a disease of the eyes (see Galatians 4:13-15). Whatever the case, it was a chronic and debilitating problem, which at times kept him from working. This thorn was a hindrance to his ministry, and he prayed for its removal; but God refused. Paul was a very self-sufficient person, so this thorn must have been difficult for him.     Three times Paul prayed for healing and did not receive it. He received, however, things far greater because he received greater grace from God, a stronger character, humility, and an ability to empathize with others. In addition, it benefited those around him as they saw God at work in his life. God, according to his sovereign plan, doesn’t heal some believers of their physical ailments. We don’t know why some are spared and others aren’t. God chooses according to his divine purposes. Our task is to pray, to believe, and to trust. Paul is living proof that holy living and courageous faith do not ensure instant physical healing. When we pray for healing, we must trust our bodies to God’s care. We must recognize that nothing separates us from his love (Romans 8:35-39) and that our spiritual condition is always more important than our physical condition.

Although God did not remove Paul’s physical affliction, he promised to demonstrate his power in Paul. The fact that God’s power is displayed in our weaknesses should give us courage and hope. As we recognize our limitations, we will depend more on God for our effectiveness rather than on our own energy, effort, or talent. Our limitations and weakness not only help develop Christian character but also deepen our worship, because in admitting them, we affirm God’s strength.

Lets Bring it Home:  When we are strong in abilities or resources, we are tempted to do God’s work on our own, and that can lead to pride. When we are weak, allowing God to fill us with his power, then we are stronger than we could ever be on our own. God does not intend for us to seek to be weak, passive, or ineffective—life provides enough hindrances and setbacks without us creating them. When those obstacles come, we must depend on God. Only his power will make us effective for him and will help us do work that has lasting value.

Under Gods Command

Proverbs 21:18 The wicked become a ransom for the righteous, and the unfaithful for the upright.

The God of heaven loves the righteous, and He gladly sacrifices the wicked for them. The ransom price to purchase and bless the righteous is the lives of wicked transgressors. He will save the righteous by sacrificing their wicked enemies, and He will return their wicked designs against the righteous upon their own heads. Consider Psalm 7:10-17!

Are you envious at the prosperity of the wicked? Are you troubled by their hatred for the righteous? Are you afraid of their proud waves? They shall foam out their shame in everlasting darkness! But before they get to that dark place, they shall be sold to trouble. There is a righteous God, and He makes differences in how He treats men (Ps 58:10-11 The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked. Then men will say, “Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth.”)

The best example to illustrate this lesson is the ransom of Egypt for Israel. The LORD loved His people Israel, and He heard their cry by reason of the hard bondage the Egyptians put upon them (Ex 1:13-14; 2:23-25). He had respect for them, but He did not have respect for Egypt. They were about to become the ransom for His righteous nation.

He sent ten plagues and horribly destroyed them before drowning Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea. Pharaoh’s counselors admitted the plagues had destroyed the nation (Ex 10:7). With the firstborn dead in every home, the Egyptians begged for Israel to leave, so Israel “borrowed” the wealth of the whole nation to never return it. And the Lord joyfully directed Israel to spoil the Egyptians this way (Ex 12:35-36). Give God the glory!

The LORD declares of this transaction, “For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life” (Isaiah 43:3-4). This is the lesson.

God directed Joshua to stone Achan and his family to save Israel (Josh 7:1-26). Saul’s seven sons were hanged to ransom Israel from a famine from the LORD (II Sam 21:1-14). And Haman and his ten sons were hanged on the gallows he had built for Mordecai and the Jews (Esther 7:10). There is a God that treats men differently (Ps 58:10-11).

Consider the words in another proverb, “The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead” (Pr 11:8). The Lord will pluck the righteous out of trouble and put the wicked in his place! The Lord will punish the wicked instead of the righteous.

God used Assyria as his tool to chasten Israel; then He turned and crushed Assyria for their actions and attitude (Is 10:5-19). And He did the same to Babylon, whom He used to punish Israel and other nations for seventy years before punishing them (Jer 25:8-14).

The servant that did not earn a return on his single talent was punished severely, and his talent was taken and given to the man with ten. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer; yes, the poor are sacrificed for the rich in this spiritual parable (Matt 25:14-30).

Dear reader, if you fear the Lord and seek to live righteously, the Lord loves you and will gladly sacrifice the wicked for you. There is no need to fear them at all. The Lord is in His holy temple, and He will never let the wicked have their way with you. Your lesson in this proverb is the glorious providence of Almighty God in disposing of events in this life for the benefit of His people. He will sacrifice others for the benefit of His children.

The day is coming when Christians will judge the world and angels (I Cor 6:2-3). The devils and sinners have persecuted them for thousands of years, but the day of vengeance is coming, when the martyrs under the altar of God shall have their great desire fulfilled (Rev 6:9-11). Both wicked men and angels shall be sacrificed in place of His children.

Let this lesson drive away any fear or intimidation of the wicked, and let it replace that fear with a humble desire to be the honourable and beloved people of the most High. For “no weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper” (Is 54:11-17). And “he that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of mine eye” (Zech 2:8-9). Thank you, Lord, for defending and saving the upright in heart. Consider Psalm 7:10-17 again. Glory!

Forgiving Others
Matthew 6:14 – For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Why? Those who are unwilling to forgive have not become one with Christ who was willing to forgive even those who crucified him Luke 23:34 – Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. We are also denying our common ground as sinners in need of God’s forgiveness. God’s forgiveness of sin is not the direct result of our forgiving others, but it is based on our realizing what forgiveness means. We cannot live as Children of Light walking around with sin and hate towards others.

Ephesians 4:28-32 – He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands that he may have something to share with those in need. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

We can grieve the Holy Spirit by the way we live. Paul warns us against unwholesome language, bitterness, improper use of anger, brawling, slander, and bad attitudes toward others. Instead of acting that way, we should be forgiving, just as God has forgiven us. Are you grieving or pleasing God with your attitudes and actions? Act in love toward your brothers and sisters in Christ, just as God acted in love by sending his Son to die for our sins.

LIVING IN UNITY! WAKE UP CHURCHES! WE ARE THE ONES RUNNING PEOPLE AWAY FROM THE CHURCH

I went to Church Sunday and the preacher told a story about a young man who had to go through a beat down in order to be accepted in the gang he joined. Well, sometime later the Preacher got the young man to turn away from the gang and to turn to the Church, well he did this and joined the Church. Sometime later, the young man stop coming to Church and no one knew why, and could not contact him. The Preacher finally caught up with him, and asked him why he stop coming to Church. The young man said, that when he joined the church he thought he would experience the same family love from Christians that he did with his gang, but he didn’t. So he went back to where he felt part of a family.

A good friend reminded me of this Scripture.

Psalm 133:1-3 How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is life precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down upon the collar of his robes. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.

David stated that unity is pleasant and precious. Unfortunately, unity does not abound in the Church, as it should. People disagree and cause division over unimportant issues. Some delight in causing tension by discrediting others. Unity is important because

(1) it makes the church a positive example to the world and helps draw others to us;
(2) it helps us cooperate as a body of believers as God meant us to, giving us a foretaste of heaven;
(3) it renews and revitalizes ministry because there is less tension to sap our energy.

Under Gods Command

Proverbs 5:3-10 – For the lips of an adulterous drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil, but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double-edge sword.  Her feet go down to death; her steps lead straight to the grave.  She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths are crooked, but she knows it not. Now then, my sons listen to me; do not turn aside from what I say.  Keep to a path far from her; do not go near the door of her house, lest you give your best strength to others and your years to one who is cruel, lest strangers feast on your wealth and your toil enrich another man’s house.

This “adulteress” is a prostitute.  Proverbs includes many warnings against illicit sex for several reasons.  First, a prostitute’s charm is used as an example of any temptation to do wrong or to leave the pursuit of wisdom.  Second, sexual immorality of any kind was and still is extremely dangerous.  It destroys family life.  It erodes a person’s ability to love.  It degrades human beings and turns them into objects.  It can lead to disease.  It can result in unwanted children. Third, sexual immorality is against God’s law.

Any person should be on guard against those who use flattery and smooth speech (lips that drip honey) that would lead him or her into sin.  The best advice is to take a detour and even avoid conversation with such people.

Under Gods Command

John 5:14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” They went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.

This man had been lame, or paralyzed, and suddenly he could walk. This was a great miracle. But the needed an even greater miracle-to have his sins forgiven. The man was delighted to be physically healed, but he had to turn from his sins and seek God’s forgiveness to be spiritually healed. God’s forgiveness is the greatest gift you will ever receive. Don’t neglect his gracious offer.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.

Under Gods Command

John 5:06 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”

After 38 years, this man’s problem had become a way of life. No one had ever helped him. He had no hope of ever being healed. The man’s situation looked hopeless. But no matter how trapped you feel in your infirmities, God can minister to your deepest needs. Don’t let a problem or hardship cause you to lose hope. God may have special work for you to do in spite of your condition, or even because of it. Many have ministered effectively to hurting people because they have triumphed over their own hurts.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.

Under Gods Command
Lamentations 2:19 – Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street.

The people’s suffering and sin should have brought them to the Lord, weeping for forgiveness. Only when our prideful, independent hearts are broken over sin can God come to our rescue. Just feeling sorry about experiencing sin’s consequences does not bring forgiveness. But if we cry out to God in repentance, he will forgive us.
