John 3:36 – Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.”

Jesus says that those who believe in him have (not will have) everlasting life. To receive eternal life is to join in God’s life, which by nature is eternal. Thus, eternal life begins at the moment of spiritual rebirth.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.

Under Gods Command Proverbs 17:01 – Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife.

It is nice to get off at times and be by yourself. How many of us married folk don’t take time out for each other because of the distractions of this world, friends, work, kids, pets, in-laws and cell phone. Sometime we need to send the kids off, get rid of the pets, turn the cell phone off, cut the in-laws out for a while, and go take a ride somewhere just to get some quietness and rest. If it’s just going out on the patio, or going for a walk, tell your spouse to “Come on out here, and let’s sit down together and get acquainted with each other. Some of us been married for a long time, and it’s time we get re-acquainted. It’s a good thing for us to do. God wants us to have times like that. They are very important for our spiritual refreshment.

John 3:25 – 29 An argument developed between some of John’s disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial washing. They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan-the one you testified about-well, he is baptizing and everyone is going to him.” To this John replied, “A man can receive only what is given him from heaven. You yourselves can testify that I said I am not the Christ but am sent ahead of him. The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.

Some people look for points of disagreement so they can sow seeds of discord, discontent, and doubt. John the Baptist’s disciples ended this theological argument by focusing on his devotion to Christ. It is divisive to try to force others to believe our way. Instead, let’s witness about what Christ has done for us. How can anyone argue with us about that?

John the Baptist’s disciples were disturbed because people were following Jesus instead of John. It is easy to grow Jealous of the popularity of another person’s ministry. But we must remember that our true mission is to influence people to follow Christ, not us.

John the Baptist continued to baptize after Jesus came onto the scene because God had given him his work and he had to continue it until God called him to do something else. John main purpose was to point people to Christ. Even with Jesus beginning his own ministry, John could still turn people to Jesus.

Proverbs 11:02 – When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

Proud people take little account of their weaknesses and do not anticipate stumbling blocks. They think they are above the frailties of common people. In this state of mind they are easily tripped up. Ironically, proud people seldom realize that pride is their problem, although everyone around them is well aware of it. Ask someone you trust whether self-satisfaction has bind you warning signs. He or she may help you avoid a fall.
